Todas las mañanas Ra circunda sobre su barca la Tierra para crear el día. Durante el solsticio estival, al llegar a su cénit, deja de proyectar sombra alguna, para adoptar el nombre de Padre Inmanifiesto. Al final de su viaje alcanza las tierras de Occidente, donde las tinieblas comienzan a arroparlo y el sueño lo abriga bajo el suave manto del horizonte. Tras esa confusa línea le acoge un mundo de difuntos que le cantan para hablarle de sus almas. Pero Ra no puede dormir,
pues el más breve de los sueños permitiría que la noche le venza, y nunca jamás volvería el amanecer. Es una lucha entre colosos en la que Horus velará por la defensa del navío. Será el protector eterno de Ra en su viaje por los mundos de espíritus y sombras, para impedir el ataque de Apofis, la serpiente de la oscuridad.

Every morning Ra circumnavigates the Earth, in his boat, to create the day. During the summery solstice, upon reaching his zenith, he stops projecting any shade, to adopt the name of the Unseen Father. At the end of his trip he reaches the western lands, where darkness begins to enfold him and dreams shelter him under the soft mantel of the horizon. After that confused line he is welcomed by a world of the dead, who sing to him to tell him about their souls. But Ra cannot sleep, because the briefest of dreams would enable night to conquer him, and dawn would never return. It is a fight between colossuses in which Horus defends his ship. He will be the eternal protector of Ra in his journey through the worlds of spirits and shadows to hinder the attack by Apep, the snake of the darkness.
