4 Ahau 8 Cumkú: antigua fecha de las series iniciales de las estelas mayas. Fecha poética que nos remite a un año imposible: el 3113 antes de J.C.. Un año en el que ni los propios mayas existían, y que tal vez sólo concibieron para datar el origen de su universo. Pero poesía o mito, esa fecha también nos habla de una noche: la del 10 de agosto. Aquella que durante siglos sobrecogió las almas de los mayas. El preciso momento en que la órbita de la Tierra se cruzó con los asteroides del firmamento para crear la mayor oleada de estrellas fugaces jamás conocida. Una fecha en que la noche derrotó a las estrellas para que pudiera salir el sol.
4 Ahau 8 Cumkú: the ancient date of the initial series of the Mayan paths. A poetic date that offers us an impossible year: 3113 before Christ. It is a year in which the Maya themselves did not exist, but that was perhaps conceived only to date the origin of their universe. Be it poetry or myth that date also speaks to us of one night: that of August the 10th. For centuries, fear drenched the souls of the Mayas. That night, the orbit of the Earth crossed with the asteroids of the firmament, to create the biggest wave of shooting stars ever known; a date in which night defeated the stars so that the sun could come out again.
